Hip-Hop artist, Santana-Ebanks!
Where did you grow up? The streets, Miami, FL. til the age of 9, Brooklyn Park, MN ages 9-11,
New Orleans, LA & Houston, TX ages 11-14, Progreso Honduras, C.A ages 14-16, Kenner City, LA ages 16-19, Miami, FL ages 19-21, Kenner City, LA ages 21-27, Aurora, Monette, Columbia & Mexico, MO ages 27-34, Kenner City, LA ages 34-current. I'm still growing up and grateful for it. "Home is where the heart is."
What inspired you to get into music? Listening to music is what helps me get through life, without it I don't understand anything else. Music is what inspires me to get into anything and everything else in life.
Do you write and produce your own music? I do write and rap my own lyrics and only write about my personal experiences and views. I don't produce my music, but I do pay and own the rights to those productions.
What is a recording session like for you? Always a learning experience and great time in creating songs that elevate the mood with positive energy at that specific moment.
Do you currently have any artists under your company? Currently just myself, but I am looking for artists to help develop and manage in order to achieve a similar goal.
What is your local music scene like right now in Kenner City? It's an even mix of both the Latin and Urban music scene, both in Spanish and English in which I also incorporate with my music.
Do you collaborate with other artists? Yes, I have throughout my whole career. This past year I've collaborated with many artists such as J.Hurst & M.Dot C.Dot and entire SmokeGang music team. IV Musik team, Mo Money Records team, Michael Orleanz, Sleazy-E and MOBB team. K2o with NOLA privacy, Munchie Muzik, Wild Child & Prolifik Productionz, Gun Smoke, IAM3AM, Page Turner and the list goes on. Peace and blessings to them who have been a part of my growth. I think collaboration is very important, without it I see it being more difficult to grow and learn if I want to continue perfecting my craft.
Have you done some touring in your career? I haven't been on tour as of yet, but I have had the opportunity to be a part and perform in big events like when the Apollo held a show in New Orleans, Kush Stock 2019 in California and last year for the 29th Annual Cutting Edge Music Conference.
Tell us about your latest project. I dropped my latest mixtape in September 2021, "To Whom It May Concern Vol.2" and is available for sale in its entirety on my website, and four singles that are out on all music platforms. Currently working on a collaborative mixtape with local artists, "Welcome To AfKennerStan" for the purpose of letting the world see and understand the 504 as a whole for what it is and who we are, greatness!
What can we expect from you in the future? Oh wow, that one hits deep. I'm working on a social justice platform for the community and for now you can read up on what that vision is on my website and well of course more music. The music is my life and one cannot exist without the other. I will say this though, whether one chooses to accept it or not, expect the unexpected. Thank you for your time and consideration. Peace and blessings.
